Dear members and volunteers,
Thank you for the privilege to lead the 22nd SNSA Executive Committee. The committee is represented by stroke survivors, caregivers, professionals of various backgrounds who are volunteers striving to better the lives of stroke survivors in Singapore.
I would like to thank the 21st SNSA Executive Committee led by Dr Ng Wai May for taking SNSA through COVID-19 safely. The hard work by the Executive committee, SNSA staff and our generous partners and donors have ensured that today, SNSA is at a position of strength with a healthy financial status. SNSA has also moved to a new centre that features a gym and spaces for social interaction. The centre is a safe space for all our members and volunteers to interact and connect. In the next six months, we hope to implement a hybrid model for our programmes. There will be some face-to-face programmes within the Phase 3 and MOH guidelines. Online programmes will also continue to take place during Phase 3.
I know you prefer to be able to communicate directly with the Exco to let us know your ideas and feedback. Now you can do so by emailing at firstname.lastname@example.org or the Vice President, Ms Tan Poh Choo at email@example.com. Please do follow SNSA on Facebook or Instagram for the most updated information on programmes and upcoming events. There are many events to look forward to this year such as our 25th Anniversary celebrations! On behalf of the Exco, I encourage all of you to volunteer as sub-committee members to plan for the major events, garner stroke survivors to join us, and partner us in making SNSA a vibrant community.
We look forward to the next 2 years with you!
Dr Shamala Thilarajah
